About Me
A Creative & Technical Jane-of-All-Trades

Marissa's journey in the world of arts and entertainment began at a young age, with her passion for the field evident in her early publications in print. In high school, her talents in theatre and live entertainment were put on display as she spearheaded a series of successful drama, choir, and live events on campus. Her extensive portfolio earned her a spot at the prestigious California Institute of the Arts, where she pursued a BFA in Technical Direction and Stage Management.

After graduation, Marissa kicked off her professional career as a Technical Designer for LA ProPoint. The following year, she took on the role of Stage Manager and Technical Director for CabaRAE, a circus-inspired variety show in Honolulu, HI. She worked closely with world-renowned circus artists, award-winning designers, and full service vendors to create two successful night-time productions at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. In 2015, Marissa returned to the mainland and joined the team at Universal Studios, Hollywood as Technical Supervisor for the Halloween Horror Nights event. Her exceptional work ethic and attention to detail led to her promotion to Assistant Technical Manager.

While in this role, Marissa managed a variety of technical and project management tasks throughout the park, with a focus on the special effects and electrical departments of Halloween Horror Nights. She also served as Technical Manager for the NYE event "eVe 2020". However, due to the pandemic, her position was ultimately eliminated. Undeterred, Marissa turned to freelancing and continued her education, working to earn her Project Management Professional Certification, as well as mastering new skills in production and digital design. In April 2021, she co-launched a full-service visual production company called Mesmeric Designs.
